“Lessons on crisis management emerging from public participation and co-production – Perspectives from the US and Europe”

Wednesday, November 4, 2026

15.00-16.30 UK |16.00-17.30 CET | 10am-11:30am EST | 9am – 10:30am CST | 8am-9:30am MST | 7am-8:30am PST

Please join us for a new academic initiative, a US-European dialogue with academics and practitioners, through research groups of the American Political Science Association (APSA) and the European Network of Public Administration (ENPA).

Our first roundtable will focus on “Lessons on crisis management emerging from public participation and co-production.” We believe this will be an important opportunity for interchange across the Atlantic at a time when crisis management is becoming ever more topical. Speakers include: Prof. Sanneke Kuipers, University of Leiden, Stevent Cleto Garcia Policy Director of Progreso Latino, Prof. Jason Von Meding, University of Florida, and Detective Chief Superintendent Zoë McKee, Police Service of Northern Ireland. The interactive format of this event will enable participants to ask questions and contribute to the discussion and knowledge creation.

This event is a collaborative venture by APSA (through its Civil Society, Policy, and Power Related Group) and the ENPA (through its Public Participation and Co-Production Research Group). It aims to foster a dialogue between academics and practitioners, to shape a new research agenda and to spark off potential new publications.

Registration to this free online event is now open for ASPA, ENPA, and the wider crisis management and participation communities. Register online by November 2nd to obtain the Zoom link. If you sign up later than this, send an email to the organisers, and they'll hopefully see it before the event.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact the organisers.
