Policy Analysis and Evaluation
Remit of the Research Group
In an age of increasing resource constraints, value conflicts, political contestation, misinformation, disruption, wickedness and turbulence, governments around the world face mounting pressures to develop robust, inclusive, and responsive policies. These forces have emphasized the critical importance of advancing both the research and practice of policy analysis and evaluation. This is in a manner that generates novel and reliable insights into the linkages between inputs, outputs and outcomes, in both the broader policy context and the wider policy environment in which societal problems arise and where the answers to these problems are to be found.
In response to these trends, challenges, and demands, this research group aims to cultivate and maintain a rigorous, collaborative, interdisciplinary, dynamic and welcoming community for the research and practice of policy analysis and evaluation. In doing so, serving as a leading scientific and professional home for advancing the theory and practice of policy analysis and evaluation in a rapidly changing world. To support this mission, this research group welcomes a wide range of scholarly approaches to policy analysis and evaluation, whether drawing on policy process frameworks and theories, political science, and sociology, among others. It is also open to a broad spectrum of methodological approaches and formats, whether qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, or conceptual. This is while maintaining an open environment for high-quality feedback, community development, and particularly aiming to foster the advancement of early career scholars.
This research Group builds on an established network of scholars working on a range of issues related to policy analysis and evaluation and actively collaborates with other relevant groups under the ENPA umbrella, and beyond.
